Rotterdam, 1 October 2019 – In September, Tårnby Municipality Fire Department received a delivery of Response Simulator Incident Command to their station. The software will enable local firefighters to explore virtual training capabilities and improve their knowledge and skills in a risk-free way.
Tårnby Municipality Fire Department is situated in the Eastern part of Denmark nearby Copenhagen and is responsible for fire and rescue services in the region. The fire department is situated in a strategically important location – not only ensuring safety to more than 41,000 residents of Taarnby, but the international airport of Copenhagen and the Drogden Tunnel (part of the connection between Denmark and Sweden) are also under partial subordination of Tårnby.
With the delivery of the Incident Command system, the whole team will be able to train in virtual environments that highly reflect realistic incidents. Immersive experience will allow the users to practice in a controlled environment with no exposure to the high risk of combustible objects, physical forces, toxic agents and other dangerous obstacles. Furthermore, Tårnby additionally acquired an aviation content and functionality package. This package comes with an extensive aviation content library and functionalities related specifically to airport environments. It is an excellent solution for safety organizations that actively operate on airport grounds or underground tunnels.
