Philadelphia, March 21st 2016 – Independence Seaport Museum in the United States has acquired two NAUTIS Museum Simulators, offering their visitors the chance to experience historical events on the Delaware River.
Aprofessional bridge simulator is the perfect way to get to know what it means to steer a ship and understand what navigation contains. The NAUTIS Museum Simulators are selected to offer an innovative and realistic solution to explore the maritime events that unfolded as the Delaware developed into a watery highway for trade and commerce.
Independence Seaport Museum deepens the appreciation, understanding and experience of the Philadelphia region’s waterways through history, science, art and community. Maintaining one of the largest maritime collections in North America, it combines more than 25,000 artifacts with hands-on exhibits, small boat rentals and large-scale models. The Museum houses the Workshop on the Water, a traditional boat shop; J. Welles Henderson Archives and Library and the Penn’s Landing Playhouse. The Museum also includes two National Historic Landmark ships: Cruiser Olympia and Submarine Becuna.
Michael J. Flynn, VP Interpretation and Visitor Experience at Independence Seaport Museum, commented: “Independence Seaport Museum is excited to bring this technology to Philadelphia. The immersive interactive component provided by VSTEP will bring a wonderful experience to Museum visitors.”
The NAUTIS Museum Simulators will be a perfect match for Independence Seaport Museum to enhance visitors’ experience on historical maritime events.
The simulators will be delivered and installed by VSTEP later this year in July 2016. Independence Seaport Museum will present the NAUTIS Simulators during the opening of the exhibition this upcoming summer.
